INGREDIENTS :

1 kg country chicken, cut into pieces1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder1 teaspoon cumin powder 1 teaspoon red chili powder1 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 cup yogurt 1 large onion, chopped2 tomatoes, chopped 1 inch piece of ginger, grated4 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon oil1/2 cup chopped cilantro leaves

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In a large bowl, combine the chicken, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and yogurt. Mix well to coat the chicken.Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
    Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.Add the tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy, about 10 minutes.
    Add the ginger and garlic and cook for 1 minute more.Add the marinated chicken to the pot and cook until it is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
    Stir in the cilantro leaves and serve with rice or roti.Enjoy!
